Hi Dan and Jenna,

Wendy from ABC. Tim Nelson passed on your blog info to me. Our family is following your trip with great anticipation. Your blog is bringing back some great memories of our 2 trips to China. We take so much for granted in America, don't we?! Just wanted you to know you are in our thoughts and prayers for a safe, healthy and smooth transition as you accept God's precious gift to you, your little boy. Just know that even if your little guy throws something at you or punches you in the face when he's handed to you that God has a beautiful plan for your family and someday soon Taye will realize what a gift he has been given...you guys as his forever family.

Blessings,
Wendy

Hey Dan & Jenna,

This is Kelly from ABC, so excited for you as you are so near to your son! How well I remember our two adoption trips to China for our sweet girls and know well the conflicting emotions you're feeling each minute. You are so right to have all of those feelings swirling around in your brain, adoption is a wonderful blessing but it's not neat and tidy, you'll find.

Can't wait to see you with your precious son. I look forward to meeting him!

(from Jenna) Phlat B, you are quite possibly the nicest person alive. My seat space on the airplane will feel bigger and softer just b/c of the niceness of your thought. (We're pretty sure there is an empty seat between Dan and I on our return flight from Addis to Khartoum...we will totally survive. Besides, we'll never remember a smooth flight, but we'll always remember one that required a little character building!)

I know it's probably too late, and there might not be anything that we could do......but is it possible for some of us to chip in a either get you guys an upgrade to first class for the long flight home, or buy you a third seat for Taye?

I dunno....just thinking out loud.

If you think there's a way we could, or know a ball park cost, then holler. It could be worth a shot!

Dan,
I read this and wow you have become such a wonderful man. I will pray for you and your new family. I can already feel the love you have for this small boy. He is very lucky to have you and your wife to love and raise him. I am sure he in turn will bring you and your family much joy.

with many many many prayer

Haa ha ha haaaa! I totally just told Andy he had ear hair the other day.

I've had grays on my head since college. Someday I guess I'll just have to like more salt and pepper.

And don't forget the stray black hairs that begin growing out of the chin of women . . . that truly messes with the vanity. They seem to come out of nowhere and grow about a half inch a day . . . ha ha.

Loved the entry . . . it brought a laugh to my day . . . but a good reminder too!

I was going to comment about your children's ministry blog until I spotted this. As a fellow adoptive dad all I can say is WOW!

Now I'll saw it backwards, Wow! God speed brother.

May God protect and watch over you and yours in all your going out and coming in as He did with us when we traveled to China back in March Y2K!
