list.
I’ve got so much on my mind. I’m just gonna write a list in no particular order.
a. I just have to say that contrary to popular belief, I actually do need my laptop for work. I just had to say that.
b. Encouragement comes in all forms. Tonight from a volunteer who told me that she wants to SERVE MORE because she loves Discovery Village! How awesome is that?!
c. Everyone needs to read Pop Goes the Church by Tim Stevens. It’s a great book on why/how to leverage pop culture in the context of ministry. It’s a MUST READ for anyone who helps program weekend church services. Seriously, great stuff. (Oh, and I’m interviewed on pages 218/219 – that doesn’t make it a good book, doesn’t hurt the book, but doesn’t make it a good book.)
d. I’m a huge fan of playwrite Eugene O’Neil right now. I finished a book of his one-acts last night as well as started reading through Nine Plays again…
e. I LOVE this place:(the pond outside my in-law’s cabin)

f. Several of our friends are leaving town. While I’m happy for them, we’re gonna miss seeing their faces around church and community.
g. I’m listening to: Into the Wild soundtrack, Liam Finn, Yeasayer, Elbow and Jon Foreman A LOT lately…
h. I’m into books on tape while riding in the Jeep. Do those two things go together? Do I care? Not really, but it just seems like I should be listening to my Grateful Dead bootlegs more than The Pinball Effect by James Burke….
i. The ice cream shop opened at the end of our street. IT’S SPRING TIME EVERYONE!!!
j. Think that’s it for now. Have a good Sunday. Take a real Sabbath day and find peace know that you’re not in control but rather Someone much more capable is.

We’ll have to meet you for ice cream. Our kids love that place.
This is a fantastic example of the power of lists. It’s great to put all that stuff in your mind out there in the world to look at. I especially enjoyed “b” – it’s fun to hear about people finding encouragement in all places.
